Kristýna Kůstková, opera singer
Soprano, opera singer, Kristýna Kůstková is a graduate of the Mannes School of Music in New York, where she studied with the support of a number of prestigious scholarships. In the USA, she has performed on important stages, including Weil Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Union Club and the Mannes Sounds Festival. She has long collaborated with the Czech Center New York, Bohemian National Hall and the National Czech and Slovak Museum in Cedar Rapids. She has also collaborated with the Opera New York group at the Off-Broadway Theatre Operetta Gala and at Carnegie Hall. She received the Golden Crystal Heart award for the promotion of Czech culture in the USA in 2020.
Kristýna is a laureate of a number of singing competitions, including the absolute winner of the Conservatory Competition, the holder of 1st prizes at the Prague Singer, Dušek Singing Competition, A. Dvořák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary (Opera Hopes) and the laureate of the Olomouc Singing Competition.
In 2024, she won 2nd prize at the A. Belli International Singing Competition and subsequently engaged in the Teatro Caio Melisso opera studio (2024–2026), where she performed the roles of Anita Garibaldi (world premiere of the opera Anita) and Vanda (La Smorfia). For the 2024 season, she received the Spoleto Gioielli award for best singer. In 2025, she performed at the Festival dei Due Mondi as Lavia in the opera Hadrian.
She regularly appears as a guest at leading Czech opera stages, including the State Opera Prague, the South Bohemian Theatre, the Moravian Theatre Olomouc, the Pilsen Opera, the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre and the Silesian Theatre Opava, e.g. Pamina (The Magic Flute), Marenka (Hansel and Gretel), Musetta (La Bohéme), the Modistka (The Pink Cavalier), the First Washcloth (Rusalka).
In addition to opera, she is engaged in concert activities in the Czech Republic and abroad, collaborating with the ensembles Barocco sem giovane, RunOperun, with violinist Václav Hudeček, oboist Vilém Veverka or alongside Adam Plachetka. She has participated in a number of recordings and international audiovisual projects.
